Helicon is a five piece rock act out of Southwest Detroit. Originally put together in the early eighties they played all the major venues of the era both in Detroit and Canada. Their brand of heavy rock put them with the hard hitters like Seduce, Strut, Salem Witchcraft and Toby Redd. Their sound was likened to ACDC, Alice Cooper and Black Sabbath. When the band broke up in early 84 the boys rarely saw each other but stayed in loose contact. Now after 23 years they have reunited with the help of Black Wolfe Records and Nectarine Studio. A new CD has been produced and is ready for release. This CD contains 3 of their original songs and one new song "Outside Lookin' In". The EP is titled "Outside Lookin'In" and will be available soon. The boys took the stage for the first time in 23 years on August 26 at The Bullfrog Bar and Grill, and played to a sold out crowd. 100 CDs were given away that night and their 2 month stint on the web has resulted in well over 10000 plays.
