Interesting News from the Free Beer Compound: Apparently, a few people think that Free Beer is a pretty good band. Good enough, we figure, to write our name down on a ballot. It appears that enough people did this writing-Free-Beer-on-a-ballot-thing that it resulted in Free Beer being voted 2nd Place Best Local Band in The Detroit News. now, if you can't believe it either...here's the link... http://detnews.com/michigansbest/2006/entertainmentpotpourri.htm While we're confident that we dont suck as a band, We're pretty sure that we're not the second best band in Detroit. The members of Free Beer are nothing if not realists and we know that we are entertaining and good for a laugh or 3 (sometimes at our OWN expense). We're just concerned that expectations might fly a little too high. Free Beer has always exceeded expectations, but an accolade like this could lead you to expect more from us. And that would be bad. Remember, Free Beer is a good, entertaining, hard working band - - that some people (not us) consider the second best band in Detroit.

NEWS FLASH!!! The Detroit News Best of Detroit poll has just named Free Beer the 2nd best band in Detroit right in the middle of D12 (Eminem's Band) and SSM. That's pretty heady stuff that we're still trying to figure out how this happened. Doesn't matter. Book the band if your a bar owner, come see us if you're not. If you're a musician, we'll drive you crazy, because we aren't capable of playing like anyone who's really good, we entertain the crap out of the 90% of the people in the audience who don't care what chords you're playing or how loud your guitar is or how many years it took to perfect that solo. Our fans dance, drink and dance some more. If I owned a bar, I'd book Free Beer (and not just because I get the employee discount either!)
